//....Perhaps because of the tranquility of the countryside, I have the space to think about "reshaping the identity of Hong Kong people", and I feel that everything I have, my living habits, my way of thinking... It's who we are and who we are. We must live our lives in a practical way, consciously reflecting on what we have in common with the various habits of life and those of others, and even the origin of the utensils we use, which is where our history and culture lie. Based on my work and personal preferences, I stand from the perspective of agriculture and see that most of the food and most of the daily utensils come from agricultural products. For example, even in Hong Kong, which is highly urbanized, we still live according to the 12 solar terms of agricultural life, for example, the Qingming Festival is designated as the public, in addition to being cautious and chasing the distance, it is also the agricultural culture in response to the regional climate, changing crops, picking tea and pharmaceuticals... of specific days.


Due to the differences in the natural environment of each place, there is a strong "Competitive Advantage", and it is easy to turn crops into carriers of culture, just as Xinyi can easily produce grapes and watermelons because the climate is suitable for growing them; Another example is Cordyceps sinensis in Tibet, pineapple in Taiwan... When we see certain foods and utensils, we will think of the life culture of that country and place. So what crops can Hong Kong use as its own cultural carrier? During my life in Upper Village, I started this journey in search of "the cultural carrier of Hong Kong people" using the story of "Making an Upgraded Version of Frangipani Tea".//

每個地方因其自然環境的差異, 造成較強的「比較優勢」(Competitive Advantage),不費力便可以把作物變成文化的載體,正如新彊因為氣候適合種植葡萄、西瓜,他們輕易地產出這些作物;又例如西藏的冬蟲夏草、台灣的鳳梨… … 當我們看到某些食物、生活用具,我們便會想起那個國家地方的生活文化。那麼香港可以透過什麼農作物作為自己的文化載體呢?在八鄉上村生活期間,運用「製作升級版雞蛋花茶」的故事,我展開了這趟尋找「香港人文化載體」之旅。//
